FULL TIME – Colombia 1-1 Mexico
So a draw between Colombia and Mexico, the result they both didn’t want.
90+1 mins – DISALLOWED GOAL
Controversial decision here. Miranda’s ball from the left-wing is headed down by Mayor to Corral who then stabs the ball under Castano’s legs and into the net. But the referee decided that Mayor had committed a foul in her challenge.
Great play by Corral down the left sees her pick out Perez, but leaning back she tries to curl the ball into the far post but the effort goes wide.
88 mins – COLOMBIA SUB
Yisela Cuesta replaces the injured Ospina
86 min – MEXICO SUB
Fabiola Ibarra replaces Ocampo
82 mins – GOAL. COLOMBIA 1-1 Mexico (Montoya)
What. A. Goal!!!!!!!! Ariza, just brought on is picked out over the defence, but miscontrols. But she tees up Montoya who blasts the ball into the net.
79 mins – MEXICO SUB
Jennifer Ruiz replaces Cuellar.
77 mins – COLOMBIA SUBS
Tatiana Ariza replaces Andrade, and Carolina Arbelaez replaces Catalina Usme.
Nearly another goalkeeping error. Ocampo’s corner is cleared to Perez who scuffs her shot. Castano thinks its gone out and looks for the ball from the crowd but its still in, and is saved because it is Ocampo who gets the ball but is offside.
A lovely Mexican counter-attack sees Mayor break to the byline, but her cutback to Cuellar is cleared behind just by Arias.
Lovely skill from Corral sees her make the room just outside the box, but her shot takes a deflection off two Colombian defenders.
Close from Usme as she shoots from 30 yards, but it just goes wide.
Mexico have free-kick from Perez cleared, but Robles ball back into the box is only just ahead of Cuellar’s head.
Colombia free-kick 30 yards. Rincon curls a shot, and Santiago just gets a touch to deflect the ball onto the right post. What a save!
55 mins – DISALLOWED GOAL & YELLOW CARD
Colombia have another goal ruled out as Montoya finishes from just outside the box, but it is ruled she fouled Miranda. And Montoya is booked.
Nearly a goalkeeping howler as the Mexican keeper Santiago takes her time with the ball as is charged down by Ospina, and she only just clears the ball away.
Mexico on top and come close from the left-wing. Veronica Perez curled a ball into the ball where Rangel headed the ball down to Cuellar who shot over from close distance. It wouldn’t have counted as the referee had spotted a Mexican foul in the box.
Ocampo’s lovely diagonal pass picks out Cuellar in the box, but Castano is quick off her line to claim the ball. Great keeping.
Colombia kick-off the second half, needing to get a goal back. This result is vital for both team’s prospects of qualifying.
Half-time – Colombia 0-1 Mexico
Close from Mexico as Robles gets down the right wing, and once again her cross as to be clawed off the line by Castano.
35 mins – GOAL Colombia 0-1 MEXICO (Veronica Perez)
A free-kick on the right wing from Ocampo needs the Colombia keeper the barry the ball off the line. From the next corner, once again Ocampo’s delivery had to be parried off the line. And then the corner was tapped to Veronica Perez whose curled cross/shot looks liked its been hooked clear off the line by Castano, but no, the ball is over the line. First time Goal-line technology is used in the Women’s World Cup.
34 mins – YELLOW CARD
Colombia’s Velasquez is booked.
A lovely passing move from Colombia sees Perez arrive late in the box, she controls the ball before shooting over.
25 mins – YELLOW CARD
Murillo is booked (Mexico)
Colombia have a free-kick 25 yards from goal, but Rincon’s effort just goes wide of the left post.
A long free-kick from Velasquez goes over everyone, including the Mexico keeper, but they can’t divert the ball goalwards.
Great cross from Rincon picks out Andrande, but she heads just wide.
After a delay for treatment, Usme fires the free-kick into the wall.
17 mins – YELLOW CARD
A moment of controversy. Colombia play a long ball up which the Mexican keeper Santiago came out of her box to head clear, colliding with Rincon. The referee awards the free-kick, but it turns out she thought the keeper had handled the ball, when she hadn’t.
12 mins – OFFSIDE
Warning sign given to Mexico as Colombia get their first real chance. A lovely ball from Rincon plays Lady Andrade through behind the back four, and she calmly finishes, but Andrande had just misjudged her run as she was just offside.
Mexico are looking dangerous. Murillo’s 40 yard free-kick picks out captain Rangel, but she can’t hit the target with her header.
Mexico looking dangerous as Kenti Robles gets down the right, but her cross is pooer and goes behind.
Great start from Mexico as Monica Ocampo picks out Ranae Cuellar with a teasing cross, but her header goes wide.
Colombia kicks the game off.
