FULL TIME France 0-2 Colombia
How about that? Colombia get their first ever World Cup win against France. They fully deserved it for their effort and passion. France could never find a way past Sepulveda… GROUP F is wide open. I need a lie down.
THIS IS INCREDIBLE. Bouhaddi takes too much time outside the area, she misclears. Ospina doesn’t shoot but plays the ball to Usme down the left, and she palces the ball past the keeper.
The abll runs across the box to Lavogez but somehow her shot is block. OUTSTANDING DEFENDING.
Ariza replaces Andrande.
The ball is in the Colombian box, with four French players, but the one Colombian Natalie Arias heads clear. Four minutes of additional time.
Another French corner, this one falls to Henry at the far post, but she can’t get any direction on it. That’s their 11th corner.
Isabella Echeverri replaces Yoreli Rincon.
Henry dribbles towards goal and passes to Le Sommer, but her shot is blocked behind by Clavijo. The corner is cleared to Houara whose driven shot across goal takes a deflection off a Colombian and just wide of the far post. The next corner picks out Henry but she heads just over the crossbar.
Andrade is through on goal, but she fouls Boulleau.
Delie’s shot is blocked, but it falls eventually to the unmarked Henry, but her powerful shot is bravely blocked by Natalia Arias. It hits her arm, but it would have been harsh as she had turned her back, and her arms were by her side.
Ospina picks up a booking pointlessly. France win a free-kick near their corner flag, and the Colombian player kicks the ball away.
Another good move from France and the ball falls for Henry, but her shot is well caught low down by Sepulveda.
Marie Laure Delie replaces Kenza Dali.
Colombia happy to defend? No, they want their second. Velasquez gets into a great position but her cross is caught by Bouhaddi. And then Gaitain’s ball forward looks forward to Usme but Bouhaddi is out quick to tap the ball away from the striker. And then Usme shoots from 30 yards, but her shot just doesn’t dip in time.
What do France do from this free-kick. Central and literally on the edge of the box. Abily curls the ball over but Sepulveda catches it. She has been immense.
Thiney is through but Sepulveda claims the ball on the edge of the box, but the referee decides the keeper rolls the ball out of the box. The keeper is booked.
67 mins – PENALTY SHOUT
France should have a penalty as Montoya pushes the ball off Le Sommer’s head with her hand.
Colombia are playing with great spirit. Ospina’s cross is cleared behind by Georges. Colombia’s corner taken by Usme is cleared.
France make a double substitution, with Amandine Henry and Claire Lavogez replacing Elise Bussaglia and Louisa Necib.
France pass into the box, but Le Sommer’s final ball is just about cleared.
France try and pass their way through the defence but are frustrated, and Dali shoots wide.
Colombia have a free-kick down the left. Velasquez’s ball is well punched clear by Bouhaddi.
Le Sommer shoots, but fails to hit the target.
Catalina Usme replaces Ingrid Vidal.
What a save. Necib’s corner is parried away by the keeper to Georges who fires a volley back, but Sepulveda catches it.
Colombia have their first corner of the game. Rincon’s delivery is poor. But Colombia recycle the ball with determined play from Ospina. Gaitain’s cross is caught by Bouhaddi.
France get the ball into the box, but the ball will never sit for any French player as great Colombian defending seems them deal with it.
The keeper is fine. Necib’s corner is cleared behind at the near post but Caroline Arias. Their second corner is cleared to Bussaglia who shoots well over.
What a save! Bussaglia shoots from just outside the box, but Sepulveda reacts brilliantly to just tip the ball over. But bad news for Colombia as the keeper is down hurt. She looks like she injured her arm.
France kick-off the second half. Can they get an equaliser?
HALF TIME France 0-1 Colombia
France may have had 62% of the possession, but it is Colombia who lead at half time thanks to Lady Andrade’s goal! And that was their only shot at goal, either on or off target. Clinical.
Now Colombia have a free-kick on the left wing. Velasquez’s delivery is headed clear by Georges.
Colombia have a throw in by the French corner flag. One minute of added time signalled.
Showboating there from Lady Andrade. Colombia are enjoying themselves here!
The referee helps France as she gets in the way and Abily plays a lovely ball to Le Sommer in the box, but her shot is pushed over the bar. Great save. France’s corner causes some danger but Colombia clear.
Colombia give the ball away and incisive passing nearly carved open a chance for France, but Necib’s final ball to Le Sommer was just overhit.
Bussaglia picks out Bolleau free down the left side of the box, but she shoots into the side-netting. Squaring the ball was the better option.
France are dominating the possession but are coming up against a very determined Colombian defence.
France has another corner. Necib’s corner picks out Renard but she heads well wide.
Necib plays a through ball towards Thiney, but Sepulveda is out quick to claim the ball.
Necib runs at the defence and her shot is deflected wide. Then the corner is played short to Bolleau, but Sepulveda claims it again.
France have a corner. Necib’s delivery is outstanding, but Sepulveda claims it superbly.
What a goal, and against the run of play. Rincon’s ball is delightful, cutting out the French defence and Lady Andrade finishes under Bouhaddi and into the bottom right corner. The foul throw incident is key.
Comical scenes as from a throw-in as Necib throws the ball straight at Houara with one hand, and a foul throw in is awarded.
A pointless handball gives Colombia a free-kick 40 yards from goal, but Velasquiz’s ball is shocking.
Dali is in loads of space down the right. Her ball is a great one, but Gaitan gets a touch just ahead of Necib. The ref decides the French player got the last touch so a goal kick is given.
Colombia get down the left, bu Velasquez wastes the cross.
Necib’s long ball is played up to Le Sommer, but Sepulveda is quick off her line and claims the ball ahead of the French striker, and just keeping herself in the box.
11 mins – CLOSE
Thiney is in the box, but at the crucial moment slips. But she gets the ball to Necib, whose shot just goes wide of the left post.
Lovely skill from Necib, using her close control to break into the box and to the byline, but her cross is deflected behind by Clavijo. France waste the corner after Ospina bravely blocks the short corner.
Colombia look like they have created a chance, but Lady Andrade loses possession. And then Rincon plays a ball for Ospina, but she fouls Boulleau.
Houara gets in a great cross, but Colombia clear to Bussaglia. She tries her luck with a first-time shot, but her contact is terrible, and the ball runs out for a goal-kick.
Necib sends Boulleau down the left in the over-lap run, but Colombia just about clear the ball. How will the players cope with the 22C and 55% humidity. Moncton so far has provided the teams with more British weather conditions.
France have gotten down both wings in the opening stages, but Colombia have stopped them getting a cross in so far.
Colombia kick the game off. Can they find their first every World Cup win? Wonderful sunny day in Moncton.
Seconds away from kick-off.
National Anthem time. France up first.
France and Colombia have only met each other once before in the 2012 Olympics, when Elodie Thomis’ 5th minute goal the difference.
17:43 – Colombia Team News
Colombia also make two changes, including replacing their keeper Stefany Castano with Sandra Sepulveda. The keeper did look nervous with crosses against Mexico, so that is understandable, and Sepulveda is their first choice. She had been recovering from a broken leg. Their other change sees their striker Ingrid Vidal come in fro Catalina Usme.
France name two changes from their win over England, with Kenza Dali and Elise Bussaglia replacing Elodie Thomis and Amandine Henry.
(4-4-2) Sarah Bouhaddi, Jessica Houara, Laura Georges, Wendie Renard (C), Laure Boulleau, Kenza Dali, Elise Bussaglia, Camille Abily, Louisa Necib, Eugenie Le Sommer, Gaetane Thiney.
(4-2-3-1) Sandra Sepulveda, Carolina Arias, Angela Clavijo, Nataly Arias, Orianica Velasquez, Natalia Gaitan (C), Daniela Montoya, Diana Ospina, Yoreli Rincon, Lady Andrade, Ingrid Vidal.
Welcome to my live-text coverage of France vs Colombia in Group F. France have a chance to seal qualification to the Last 16 with a win, after they beat England 1-0 in their opening game. Colombia rescued a point against Mexico, but they will know they must get something from this game.
