FULL TIME France 3-0 South Korea
France destroy South Korea, and now face Germany in the quarter-finals. It doesn’t get harder than that.
A quick France passing move allows Hamraoui to shoot from outside the box, but her effort goes over.
Necib has a go from long range, but it is straight at Kim Jungmi
Lee Geummin picks up a booking for a foul on Boulleau who seems hurt. She returns after treatment
Kadidiatou Diani replaces Marie Laure Delie who is denied the chance to get a hat-trick
Another South Korea free-kick, this time on the right, 18 yards from the byline and Jeon’s delivery is cleared by Renard. France break and win a corner. Necib’s delivery is cleared.
South Kroea have a free-kick on the left, but Park Heeyoung’s delivery goes to Bouhaddi
Kheira Hamraoui gets booked, four minutes into her World Cup debut
Park Heeyoung replaces Kang Yumi
Kheira Hamraoui replaces Camille Abily
75 mins – CLOSE
Bouhaddi clears straight to Yoo Younga who shoots from the edge of the box, but the keeper redeems herself by tipping the ball over. If Bouhaddi continues to be careless against Germany, it will be a painful night
Gaetane Thiney replaces Eugenie Le Sommer
67 mins – CLOSE
Thomis passes to Delie close by in the box, her shot is caught by Kim Jungmi bravely at the feet of Le Sommer.
South Korea have had a good spell, committing players forward but can’t carve out a chance
Lee Sodam replaces Kwon Hahnul
58 mins – CLOSE
A fast French move nearly gets a fourth goal. Houara gets down the right, she picks out Delie who sets up Thomis but she volleys over.
Some sustained pressure from South Korea sees Yoo Younga have two shots blocked before Renard clears behind for corner. The corner is dangerous but the ref awards France a free-kick
Yoo Younga replaces Park Ensun
Game over. Boulleau plays Le Sommer into the box who uses her strength to hold off a challenge and break to the byline, she cuts back across the six-yard box to Delie who is left with a simple finish at the near post.
Good play for Lee Geummin gives Cho Sohyun space, but her long distance shot is wasteful.
SECOND HALF STARTS
Delie is through after just 16 seconds, but she is ruled offside.
HALF-TIME France 2-0 South Korea
Boullau puts in a beautiful cross into the ball which Kim Jungmi punches clear, but Renard’s head makes contact with the keeper in the follow up.
France break again, Le Sommer plays Thomis free, but she is stopped by Lee Eunmi’s superb sliding tackle to concede the corner. Renard heads wide from that corner.
Four minutes extra to play due to Kim Jungmi’s injury
France have a corner. Necib’s delivery is good and South Korea just about clear.
40 mins – CLOSE
France break, and Le Sommer plays Delie throughm but she shoots straight at Kim Jungmi who makes a good save.
South Korea have a free-kick 30 yards from goal, but Park Eunsun’s attempt goes way off target. Very poor.
Lee Eunmi is booked for a foul on Le Sommer.
31 mins – CLOSE
Bolleau crosses from the left-wing, it goes through two South Korean defenders to Le Sommer, who turns and just shoots wide with her left foot.
Lee Geummin makes a driving run, and see tries to play Jeon into the box, but Renard makes the tackle and the South Korean slips.
South Korea have a corner. Jeon’s delivery is okay, Bouhaddi comes but hesitates and lets it run out for a throw. South Korea need to gamble on their set pieces.
26 mins – CLOSE
Henry’s long pass is delightful and picks out Thomis in the box, she cuts in to the left to make room, but she shoots wide with her left foot. Poor contact.
France gets down the right, but Thomis’ cross is caught by Kim Jungmi.
South Korea have a free-kick, 35 yards from goal. Jeon’s delivery is spilled by Bouhaddi under no pressure, and Renard is there to clear and save her keeper.
Nearly six minutes later, Kim Jungmi is patched up and ready to continue.
Necib floats a free-kick into the box, Renard gets a weak header which Kim Jungmi just clears through a crowd of players. The keeper is down in pain from the challenge, and it looks like she has a black eye. Looks like she was elbowed by her own player Park Ensun.
Better from South Korea, with Park Ensun shooting from outside the box after a clever build-up, but it goes over.
An ambitious restart. Park Ensun shoots from the half-way line, but it was never going to worry Bouhaddi. It was more of a pass than a shot.
France strike again. Lovely one-two between Thomis and Le Sommer sees Thomis break into the box and she fires the ball past the keeper from close distance. Game over?
South Korea play a free-kick quick down the right, Kang’s cross is a beautiful one but Bouhaddi punches clear ahead of Park Eunsun
What a start. A lovely incisive passing move down the left sees Bolleau break into the box, she passes to Abily who returns the favour to allow the left-back to cut the ball back to Delie, all first time passes.. She makes weak contact with her shot, and the ball just goes in at the bottom-right corner.
Thomis puts a dangerous ball into the box, but South Korea just about clear.
The game gets underway. France will feel at home in the French-speaking Montreal.
South Korea had never won a World Cup point until they drew with Costa Rica. They had never won a World Cup game until they beat Spain. They had never reached the knockout round at the World Cup. Can they do another first, or will France continue on their path to the final?
